How does this mean trouble for HD Radio?

Looks to me like the worst case is having to notify the FAA if your station is at 107.7 or 107.9.

I swear, do you have to work at making this stuff up?

All this means is that broadcasters would have to advise the FAA on any significant technical changes, including facilities moves and power increases. This is a proposal, not a rule. I assume there will be an uproar about it, too. And it has NOTHING to do with HD.

HD does not change the licensed power of a station, so it would not come into play were the FAA rules to go into effect. Most HD stations use the same antenna for both HD and analog (with a few exceptions) and this rulemaking proposal does not affect AM at all.

In general, this affects stations that are moving or increasing licensed power, not stations that are turning SCAs on or off or adding HD or going from mono to stereo which do not fall under the scope of the PROPOSAL. Principally, it has to do with antenna structures and height, and thier relationship with radiation.

Here you go, folks. He'll say ANYTHING, true or not, to put doubt in YOUR mind. Remember what I said? I'd like you to try HD radio and decide for yourself. He wants to mislead you with non-facts and opinions.

He's admitted that his goal is to put doubt in your mind and chase you away. Don't let it happen.

Fortunately, I give the people here more credit that that. I don't want to put doubt in your mind. I want to undo the misinformation, and convince you to just try it for yourself. Then decide.

People have been chased away from this board because of YOU and only YOU. If you look back to the older threads in this topic you will see relatively intelligent discourse between reasonable individuals. But you sir, have reduced this topic to a very unpleasant place to be.

And when IBOCRocks and the two Davids respond to your rants, they only serve to fuel your ego and psychoses. I suspect you don't really care one way or the other about IBOC, but rather, would simply prefer to trash this message board. Shame on you. And shame on us for responding to you.

I'm no fan of IBOC but you are certainly making it difficult for me to continue feeling that way. Well not really. IBOC IS pretty bad technology. But if you represent the best that this message board has to take positions against it, then no wonder everyone else has left.

May I suggest that if people stop responding to these boorish postings that maybe when he realizes that he's not winning anyone over to his side that maybe he will go away?
