8 / 8 /22 release of 6+ for July Nielsen

Cox had a good month 6+. The River is in double digits. Kind of like Christmas in July. The mini vans have started hauling kids to school so I expect the Fish to improve.
A few things in the July monthly seem notable:
- An 11 share for The River is kind of amazing.
- Why is The Bull doing so poorly? The new morning show sounds great. Maybe people just recently became used to listening to 101.5, and the show needs to become established. Also, Kristen Gates has been out for the past month due to surgery, and her fill-in during afternoon drive is kind of sub-par.
- The Fan, on a little translator, is clobbering a high-power FM, The Game. Baseball season is part of that, and of course Atlanta has never been a good market for the Sports format. The Fan does sound really good for a station with a poor facility and despite beating The Game, low ratings.
The poor showing of The Game is quite stunning. The massive ratings of The River are equally stunning.
When was the last time WSB was 5th?
Maybe The Game is a cursed brand. Audacy hasn’t gotten very far with it in San Francisco either.
Looks like V103 has stopped their ratings bleeding, seems like third place in the urban game is their spot 6+ now.
Again, this month: When is the last time an Atlanta station got a >10 share in 6+?
Guessing that since we're in limbo between basketball and football season, 92.9 is suffering.
The Fish's summer swoon is in effect. They'll be back when school is.
Conservative talk (WSB-AM/WSBB, WGKA, and WFOM) seems to be down. WAOK is also down, and WBIN didn't have a single meter this month.
Somebody's listening to the Classic Sound of94Q Star! 0.2 share for an HD2 signal with no translator is pretty good.
The WTBS Franken-FM on 87.7 is doing great.

Hey, at least The Game is still beating the 97.9 and 102.9 translators. Too bad the 94.5 translator squeaked past them in the ratings.

I don't have last summer's ratings bit I bet a lot of 680 the Fan's increase is due to Rock 100.5 not carrying the Braves games. If there is no improvement in 92.9 by September Falcons football, then there could be issues with their programming. They did add a mid morning show.
Prediction: If there is a change in 92.9's management within the next 2 years, Steak Shapiro will take over. No one is irreplaceable but Mike Conti does a lot for The Game. But if some one gets to take the blame the "Product Manager" which I guess is Audacy's version of Program Director / Operations manager would be the target.

Did Rock 100.5 get a bump up in ratings with them playing more music on the station and dropping the Braves ball games? Sometimes it's not just that easy to "fix" the station.
The Falcons are one of the league's worst teams without much hope of improving anytime soon, which is likely causing a good bit of WZCG's misfortune. The station did a lot better in years past when the team is better. There may not have been games going on during the survey period, but I doubt many were interested in offseason talk for the Falcons with the team having such a bleak outlook for the season.
Perhaps some of the listeners that left 92.9 went to 97.1 and 100.5.
People wonder why 101.5 is beating the Bull, and there are many reasons. But one might be a very unique passion the station's PD has for new music. How many PDs in Atlanta seek out new music before it's released?
