Who is the "Dana Hersey" of WEEI and ESPN Radio? They sound ALIKE!

1)Is it the same dude (not Dana)

2)Is it someone trying to sound like the other guy on the other station?

Also - this show on AM 890 is excellent:

Colin Cowherd

some great points about the noise at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis as well as the bad officiating of the Pats/Colts game

Actually his name in Jim Cutler. He is a big dude where voiceovers are concerned. You will also here him in national commercials and ESPN radio nationally.

http://www.jimcutler.com --he does imaging for ESPN, various sports stations, talk/news stations,
even rock and country stations. Hear him on that site. Also does TV work, etc.
So yes he's on both stations.

"Today's hot new country. And your all time favorites. Q-106"
"We don't just say it. We play it. The most classic rock on 96.5, the Planet"
"On New York's one and only all news station, 1010 WINS"

His wife does VO work too

He actually posts on this board once in a while. He does the national stuff on ESPN Radio, but none of the local stuff mentioning 890 in Boston.

WEEI has the best imaging of any sports station out there, and Cutler's voice fits it perfectly ! Love the attitude.

Thanks for saying that. But how do you even know who I am? My wife and I like to say we're in the plumbing end of show business. :) This board amazes me at it's combined knowledge of things radio. You all know a lot more than I do, and I do this all day for a living! I come here to read what's happening back at home. Man do we miss it. It's hard living among the Yankee fans. According to NY radio we never won a Division Championship we deserved. But there are lots of Red Sox caps around New York. Everytime I pass one we silently acknowledge each other with a guarded half-smile. And just about anyone Dominican in NY is a huge and knowledgable Sox fan. Saw Gone-Baby-Gone this weekend and back came the homesickness again. So that's my story. I'll receed into the background again.

By the way the fella that is the PD at 890 is a tremendous guy names Len Weiner. And so is Jason at WEEI. We go back a long way together at that place.

Next season, Entercomm should have Jim do the Red Sox billboards on WRKO. Lets face it WRKO will reimagine to WEEI-2 instead of the Talk Station. People new to the radio business should learn by listening to JIm's spots on EEI and on ESPN Radio and others.
