90th Anniversary of "Music and the Spoken Word", world's longest running broadcast.

Longest running NETWORK broadcast. I ran out of space on the subject/title line.

The Lutheran Hour began the same year, according to their website, but stopped for 4 years due to funding issues.
Thanks for the info.

So who actually still airs "Music And The Spoken Word"? KIRO Seattle airs it both on 710AM and 97.7FM--at 6 am Sunday. For that matter, the Grand Old Opry has no Seattle affiliates.

The radio show hasn't been syndicated for many years. The TV show was on TNN, then CMT, then GAC, and is now on a new diginet called Circle.

The 95 year run was been consistently on WSM-AM. Still is now, even during the pandemic. No audience in the house.

I've got a call in to the AE at Bonneville. I hope to get you an answer on Monday.
I'm wondering too....used to be that they made audio and TV dubs every week, in just about every known format, and shipped them out to every place that didn't get a live feed. I know there was even a personal dub just for the King of Tonga.

If memory serves me right, a half-hour version of the broadcast was aired on the NBC Radio Network every Saturday night.
