There is a market for black gospel....KGGR(which is daytime only, to protect WHO). KHVN is gospel. Black Gospel is not part of Salem's business model. If they were then they would put resources into. For the 8 years that I have worked for SRN, not one time have they even bother to program, buy or LMA a black gospel station. You would assume that when ABC got rid of Rejoice sometime ago that Salem would have bought them. Not even interested. They are not interested in the black dollar. So why would KLTY put gospel on an HD signal.
What is the problem with Gospel music being heard at night all year? What do you have against gospel music? If you are not concerned about it that is fine. If you want to hear KMAD, then go live in the area that broadcast in.
OK - if there is a market, develop a business plan, take it to investors, buy somebody out, and put a station on the air.
So there is a difference between gospel - 970 - and black gospel - 1440. What is 1630? It is looking to me like the area is already saturated with gospel. You are right - I don't care. I don't have to care - it doesn't enrich my spiritual life no matter what variety of gospel, black, ordinary, or whatev - I am a power FM listener myself. But puh-LEASE - don't try to make it into some racial thing, I don't like gospel, I don't like country, I don't like news talk, I don't like sports, I don't like Spanish language. So gospel is just one in a list of irritating formats that make frequencies black holes as far as I am concerned. I hope the black gospel fans get their station. I really do. I hope it draws its listeners closer to God. It won't me because I won't be listening. But not a black gospel station at the cost of a station I listen to. Enhance the frequencies that already program the format, buy new stations, etc.
Oh - and that slam about - go live somewhere else. Really gracious of you. Merry Christmas to you, too. I didn't ask for the interference on KMAD - it was foisted on me by what amounts to an attempt to make money off of the sale of a "translator" that is unnecessary for its primary station. Sounds a bit like "money changing" to me. Other posters have documented that I have a legitimate complaint, so do other KMAD listeners. And complain we WILL!
And I don't have to move. Jamming the dial with trash like this has just netted another satellite radio listener. I've been on the fence and intrigued for years. Now I'm acting - no longer on the fence - take away not one, but two of my stations in one week and I don't have enough stations to fill presets on my car radio any more. Why put up with continually shrinking listening options over the air when I can get hundreds on satellite? Once I get it installed - goodbye translator jamming, CBS firing DJ's I like, crummy formats FOREVER. I'm done! Satellite will do until streaming is available. What will I be streaming in a few years? KMAD among others - and I will listen to them without having to move anywhere.
