I live in a part of West Tennessee where I can pick up the Memphis stations or WYNU out of Jackson. Personally I think Gregg Rivers and company have a better idea of what many of us want to hear in our classic rock station than Memphis. I say this not as an advertisement but a compliment. 92.3 seems to have a slightly deeper catalog of songs that are aired regularly than Memphis. I find myself listening to 92.3 more than Rock 103 or 98.1.
The being said, I did have a few comments for your consideration. I am always excited to listen to Gregg's Shut Up and Rock Show and hope he and the station takes note of many of the requests. The other day I heard probably 80% of the songs being played by bands classic rock has shyed away from. I heard stuff like Uriah Heep, UFO, etc. It seems to me people want a little bit more of that. How cool was it to hear Alice Cooper's "Elected?!!!" I think 92.3 could build a stronger audience if it did play more deep cuts and a larger variety of bands.
My only major complaint was when the station changed ownership they took off the syndicated Dee Snider's House of Hair show. That show was popular in this area, and I don't see what it hurt to dedicate a lousy two hours a week to the 80's hair bands. I loved that era of music.
I could easily go a week without hearing another AC/DC, GNR, or Led Zep song.
