93.9 MIA HAD A EYE BROW LIFT AND IT IS HOT

939MIA is the new best thing since pulse87ny this format will work for Miami,
It is clear channel wonder how long it will last... Is it the same program/music director??? somthing happend as of mid april,
I use to work at clear channel maybe theres some happness there now maybe someone got a raise lol... I smell somthing burning and its my speakers i better turn it down a little...

Dude, are you on something? It's the same 20 old songs over and over. This station has as much of a future as the former jammin oldies 103.5. People at some point are going to get tired of the same songs.

oh and the Coast doesn't play the same 20 songs all day and night? How many times to hear This Kiss, One More Try and pretty much the #1 hits of George Michael. It gets old QUICK.

Honestly, who cares about the jocks? The music on mia and the coast are the same old 20 songs over and over and over. Both stations sound horrible. It amazes me why someone doesn't try something new in the market? How about a hot ac or alternative or something that doesn't exist? Instead we have three AC stations, and a million urban or urban ac leaning stations.

The jocks make the station sound more fun and local. In addition, the Coast has 80s flashback weekends in which the variety is far more than 20 songs...

1) If people didn't want to hear announcers, they'd pay for Sirius/XM or bring their Ipods to work or with them on their travels. It breaks the cycle of the jukebox effect. People do listen to the radio for other things than music. Especially because some stations play as you stated "The same old 20 songs over and over".

2) Try something new? If you're currently in the industry or have been at one time, you'd know that this has been a issue for decades. Most stations are so worried what the competition is doing. Nobody has the balls to take a chance and do their own thing. Did you ever hear of a corporate consultant who actually listened to what you said and worked with it instead of just dictating what you need to do? I've worked with them and it never happened.

Wow true, except XM does have some pretty good announcers on a few of their channels. I think Clear channel gave WLYF a gift of all their Love 94 audience. I hate to think of South Florida radio without Love 94. It was a unique radio station for many years.

I've heard MIA on my visit down here during the Winter Music Conference. For the type of station that it is, IMHO it has to take a more 'KTU (New York) approach.

There was tons of repetition going on along with a lot of tired tracks from the 70's and 80's that have been beaten beyond belief. PD Rob Miller (at 'KTU) removed all of the disco and freestyle aspect of programming while focusing on current mainstream dance and rhythmic tracks. Nothing cutting edge. That has actually helped save the station and is in the Top 5 of the NYC market.

Perhaps MIA needs to ditch a lot of the older stuff and add in the rhythmic. It didn't sacrifice the 40+ demo when 'KTU did it.

I know, I know, different markets but that MAY answer the concerns of the 20 same tracks?

Tony, I strongly agree. Rich McMillan, are you listening?
