93Q Heard this morning clearly in Northwest Austin this morning

Around 7:53 AM when walking down 183 and Great Hills Dr listening to my Panasonic AM/FM Cassette Walkman, I was able to pick up 93Q KKBQ Pasadena Houston with no other stations bleeding in. Any other stations outside of Houston and San Antonio heard on a portable walkman this morning?

When the atmospheric conditions are right the sky will bounce a distant FM station's signal back down to earth. It's very temporary so you can't count on it.

Back in December, I picked up 94.5 KTBZ and 102.1 KMJQ off 151/1604. As I drove down 1604 heading towards I-10 I picked up 106.1 Kiss FM in D/FW!

In my youth I recall picking up FMs & TVs from Alabama, Arizona, Baja California, Colorado, Florida Georgia, Illinois and Louisiana. I even picked up a central american TV station one time.

Long distance reception is really not that unusual. You just can't predict when it will happen, what you will hear and how long it will last.
