I don't know when the switch occurred but Classic Rock and Country are no longer being played on the respective formats. The Promise christian station is now being simulcasted on both.
I am in a complete state of shock. The Promises' FB page has indicated the station is moving to BOTH 94.1 and 100.7. Here's another case where so much was anticipated and it comes down to this. I never saw The Promise being a part of any of this. Isn't the old WKTZ Christian contemporary also? How many stations do we need? This news has left me very depressed. OK..maybe 1 station but not 2.
It's a shame Renda Broadcasting didn't do more with 94.1 and 100.7. My gosh, what a way to start the year with news like this
The Promise format continues its march across the Jacksonville dial. Didn't Salem launch the original Promise on 106.5 after Clear Channel had to sale the frequency sometime over 10 years ago. By September 2006 when Salem sold the signal to Cox the Promise intellectual property and some talent moved to 88.1fm. In 2011 it appears that when 88.1 became KLOVE the Promise format moved to 91.7fm and now in Early 2015 the Promise moves back to the commercial band blanketing south east GA and North Florida. Salem still holds onto some AMs in the market.
100.7 spent time carrying the Morningstar now Salem Radio network feed from 93 to 95 as the Word. So a return of Christian music after 20 years. If that signal boost is approved for 94.1 then will 100.7 be needed
