95.7 Move to Sharonville/Cincinnati from Piqua/Dayton?

Does anyone know IF the LP CP;s for Cincinnati @ 95.7 is the reason for the FCC's longer than usual approvel of the Cox "move-in" or somehting else - or just a timing thing?
Yes, inquiring minds would like to know.
Regardless, it's still cool to the the 3 FM bays on the tower (Rt.42 & I 275) and wondering what the final outcome will be.... ???

I doubt it. If I held one of those LPFM CP's, I wouldn't even bother building it out. The LP stations are a secondary service, meaning they will be "bumped" by the full power CP for 95.7.
 
The location at I-275 and US-42 is not that specified for the proposed WHIO-FM move. It matches up with a translator application by Miami University.

I was generalizing the area when I said I-275 & Route 42 in Sharonville.

Specifically, the WHIO requested "move-in" for 95.7 WHIO-FM will be located - according to the FCC application - at the intersection of Hauck Road and Runyon Drive. The tower is at the top of Runyon Drive (next to I-275 Route 42).

To your point if it's either the WMUB low power translater or WHIO-FM (again, if/when Cox app is approved the low power station must find other digs. Full power stations trump low power/translators.

Someone's gonna be sending a signal from there soon - the question still remains who will it be?
 
Yep. Paragraph 68 shows the slight change in approach for LPFM's even though they still favor the full-service FM.

However, no one still - or can at this point - answer the question of who OWNS the new FM-bays installed this week on the tower in Sharonville.
Note: I can't seem to locate CP for the Miami University translator for Sharonville in the FCC database (I searched via FM Query).
 
If I read the data correctly, none of the LPFM's applications (not CP's) in Sharonville are for 95.7?

They are for 98.1 and 103.1 and both for Miami University (WMUB). They propose using the tower at Hauck Road and Runyon Drive according to engineering data.

The Cox full-power application (WHIO-FM) also proposing using the sames tower at Hauck and Runyon in Sharonville.

The only LPFM for 95.7 is a CP for Victory Church in Cincinnati, not Sharonville. The tower location is not at the same location of the applications listed above for WMUB and WHIO.

So, if I'm correct, both Cox (WHIO-FM) and/or the Board of Trustees at Miami University (WMUB) know something we don't ???

One or both of them apparently will be using this tower soon....since they will be using differently frequencies - stay tuned.

Hey everyone - in a few months it will be 2 years since the application was filed with the FCC.
Does anyone out there have updated information regarding status? Do you think this just plain dead or delayed due to FCC slow response time?
C'mon, somebody must know someone who knows the real scoop.
 
some people have been saying that Cox will be entering the market. Cox likes to dominate in a market, not just have a portion of the shares. Plus 95.7 is going to have about as good of a signal as 97.3, so something tells me Cox is looking for a buyer to build out the CP for them.

Did they actually build out that LPFM? I wouldn't have even bothered since I think Cox filed for that CP before they announced the winner(s) in that huge LPFM MX group.

Checking the FCC database shows that four LPFMs CPs were granted on 95.7 in Cincinnati back in February
of this year. None of the four LPFM stations have call letters assigned to them yet but all of them have full
time status. For some reason, they can operate full time and don't have to share time with each other like
the Columbus LPFM group on 102.1 has to.

Dose any one know the status of these LPFM stations? Are they even worth building now that the Sharonville
move will kick them off 95.7?

I have my doubts that the move from Piqua will ever happen !
 
I remember the 93.7 Seymour move to 93.9 Sellersville/Louisville took at least a good 2 2 and half years to happen. plus part of the move was also allowing 93.9 Fishers/indianapolis to upgrade to a full Class B Signal and move to the ever growing metropolis of Lawrence Indiana and that actually hasnt happened and that one is moving on 3 years now that i think of it

Opposition Filed 03/25/2008 by Media Bridges Cincinnati, Inc.; Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center and Forest Hills School District

The CP was granted, COX filed a petition for reconsideration on 3/10/08, and Media Bridges filed a response on 3/25/08.

This could be held up for a while.  COX needs to find new channels for the CPs granted on 95.7 if they want to get their move-in done.
