It's about time someone in NorCal tried this!

I wonder if/when this will happen at an SF station? There may not be much money or ratings in the format, since most everyone in the market for such music has aged out of the prime ad demos, but perhaps it could still work somehow with the proper support?

There is very little general market local direct advertising in San Francisco. So there is no revenue base for direct accounts because those businesses only serve a particular area of the market and they can't afford the rates for a full market station.

In smaller markets, direct accounts will often be owned by the same person who decides on advertising, and they also may be listeners and base their choices on "that's what all my friends and I listen to". And if the owner is in their 60's, guess what they will pick to run their ads?
