96.3 WDVD FM DETROIT rumor to shift from HOT AC to CHR Radio

And where did you get this rumor from? WDVD leans CHR enough and has been beating the pants off of 95.5 and Amp for almost every book over the past couple of years. I highly doubt Cumulus will mess with what they've got going on 96.3

The odds of this being true are not good at all. chrocket, you are spot on. Although 95.5 and AMP battle for the CHR crowd, they BOTH are and have been looking up at WDVD for a while now. Cumulus in other markets has tried some weird things(Hi there KGO), but even they know something that works. Any station that is still playing "Forget You", "Cooler Than Me", and doesn't play rap, yet still pulls in a near 5.0 share is a station that works.

Human Numan definitely wrote that on 96.3's wiki page. No question.
 
Thank you, Numan. I needed a good laugh today.

WDVD sounds virtually identical to some Cumulus so-called CHRs as it is anyway. i.e. WJIM-FM in Lansing, which is just a touch more rhythmic. I think they're as CHR as they're going to get.
 
If 98.7 AMP goes to news!
I hope 96.3 does switch to Chr!
I don't wanna be stuck with suck A** 955!

When WWJ needs to move to FM, Amp will likely be on the chop block, as it's the lowest rated and billing FM in the CBS stable. Unless CBS were to buy an FM to put it on (I think they can still buy one in Detroit), like they did in NYC for WFAN, Amp will likely be gone.
 
Right! chrocket87 Yes I hate to see 98.7 Amp go but the way there doing the rating's is not good!
 
I am not the biggest fan of 98.7, but I don't think they are going anywhere. One, WWJ is the highest rated AM station in Detroit, so any signal issues that they have(around Ann Arbor) are being overcome. It's probably the same reason that 760 hasn't gone to FM yet, and may not for a while. Second, I think that CBS Radio thinks that AMP can still overtake Channel 95.5. Also, I'm officially putting my guess out there, because I believe it. AMP isn't going anywhere because in early spring Dave and Chuck "the freak", and Lisa Way will be the new AMP morning show. For the record, I have no moles, no insiders, just a thought.
 
Put Dave and Chuck "the freak" on Amp would be the best way to save 98.7.
Dave and Chuck "the freak" will give "Mojo in the morning" a big run for there money great idea btw.
I'm sure that will improve Amp's rating's!

Buck & Coop just started six months ago. The amount of money they are putting into advertising that show is incredible, but very smart. Both Buck & Coop are extremely talented and I'm expecting them to be Detroit's next big morning show.
