96X Yanks Popular "Mike & Bob" Show, Social Media Anger Ensues

"I hope your station goes under and you learn a lesson from all this... Thank you, [expletive] you and goodbye."

That's just one of the colorful comments left on Hampton Roads' WROX/96X's Facebook page - which sports around 13,000 fans as of this posting, most of whom are expressing their displeasure against the cancellation of the top-rated morning show "Mike & Bob." The station owner admits it was "top-rated" but didn't fare well "under the new rating system."

At the same time, 96X has tweaked the format with what is being dubbed "new core music for the station."

"There will be new core music for the station," Sinclair said. "We've added Muse, Adele, Train, Paramore, Kings of Leon and Maroon 5, that kind of sound.

...96.1 The Coast?

The Coast would have rocked the s*** out of PPM. Maybe Bob's coming to his senses about the mistake he made 8 years ago.

Looks like they've flipped almost completely to Modern AC/Alternative (like the Click stations, KUCD, KQKQ. WKBE, etc.)

I'm guessing Mediabase is going to move them to Hot AC, since not many Alternative stations play The Script, Pink, One Republic, and B. O. B.

I Smell That if 96X want's to Go Modern AC, 94.9 The Point can Switch To Alternative or Mainstream Rock and keep The Point name. They are doing Very Poor as it is and is Already a Rock Heavy Hot AC.
