97.5 The Fanatic Fires Back, Tony Bruno Moves Back Home To Philly

This time it'll be called "The Tony Bruno Show With Harry Mayes."

Bruno says his Venice Beach house is for sale. He is moving back to Philadelphia to do the show from here. You know he's not leaving California after eleven years and moving here just to co-host a two-hour show.

He'll also be doing local Eagles pre-game shows. No word on what'll happen with his national show. My guess is he'll continue doing it, only now from here.

Venice Beach to Philly. I'd be hard pressed to make that move. But hey, if the cash is right.... :D

That had to be some darn good cash. And The Fanatic has to believe there is long term upside in bringing someone like Bruno in, despite the fact he hadn't been making good press as of lately.

It's still a notable talent upgrade, any way you slice it.

one day in with WIP's new lineup and 97.5 seems like they're getting pretty desparate already...do they really think anyone cares about having terrell owens on with mikey miss? terrell owens was irrelevant in philly 6 years ago...who the heck cares what he says now when he's washed up and out of the league.

For that matter, if your preference is, or isn't, for a given personality, do the vast majority of listeners know, nor care, where that host is sitting? No. People are not going to suddenly say, "I couldn't stand that Tony Bruno when he was in California, but now that his voice happens to come from Bala Cynwyd, he's my new favorite."

Philly really does not go for out-of-towners. Tony is well known and popular with a lot of people. So moving him here makes sense for the Fanatic. But for Bruno? Not so sure. He'll probably be moving agin in two years.

Does this man Brian Balldinger leaves? Hope not. I think he sounds great.

When does he start? and What shift will he be on?

He's back in his Noon-2PM slot for now, but I doubt that Tony is moving back east for a two hour afternoon show. Wouldn't it be cool if they eventually decided to finally go with a local morning show (hosted be Bruno)? That thought has to be floating around in Matt Nahigian's mind right now.

Tony's national Fox Sports Radio show will be replaced by "FSR Evenings" hosted by Fox Sports host Rob Dibble (former Cincinnati Red) and Fox Sports host Mike North (formely of WSCR "The Score" Chicago).

As for the DirecTV portion of the national simulcast, no announcement yet but...rumors have swirled that comedians Nick DiPaolo (formerly of Free FM New York) and Artie Lange (formerly of the Howard Stern Show) would be getting a show that would air on TV and radio.

I tuned in to 94.1 WIP yesterday to catch some Eagles talk. Boy was that a mistake.

Duh Cuz was babbling on about Hipster Dave and Silent Bro. Is it a violation that those 2 are having a Dungeons and Dragons party this weekend. Who cares dude- Click.

Over to 97.5 FM. Mush was talking to his intern about Curbed Your Enthusiasm and Entourage. Click.

You have 4 stations tied up with this nonsense now. 610,950,94, 97.5...

I never want to hear these guys bantering with their interns and producers again. Keep them off the air, and I dont think anyone cares about bringing their names or isues into any conversation.

I really dont see the ratings improving for WIP. Moving to 97.5 helped 950 out a smidgen but nothing noticeable and I dont think the masses are going to switch to 94.

I believe Tony does some work for Comcast Bay Area.

I could see him ending up on Comcast Philly whether it be on DNL or Post Game Live.

As far as Tony not coming back east for just 2 Hours on 97.5. I agree but He may not have had a choice with the mess he got himself into with the twitter issue. Things were getting pretty ugly out there for him I would imagine.

He gives 97.5 instant credibility which was sorely needed.

I pray they anchor a morning show around him so I can have some local sports to listen to in the AM.

I'm a big fan of Michael Bradley. He , Tony and another personality would have the makings of a great morning show.

Agreed. I always enjoyed Bradley's time when he has been on 950/97.5. He was solid in one of 950's old morning shows - paired with Bruno, thats enough I think. As long as they talked sports...
