I was just listen to 98.7 FM this evening on my HD radio and i saw the call sign for 98.7 FM as WDZH. At first I was shocked and thought 98.7 format changed as well.

What does the call sign WDZH stand for, I guess it stands for Detroit's Hits Detroitz hits, 98.7 WDZH or 98.7 Detrotz Hits.

It seems like CBS would have changed 98.7 FM in Detroit's call letters to WAMP-FM not WDZH-FM.

Does anybody know what WVMV the former call sign for 98.7 FM in Detroit stood for.

Yep, a non-comm FM in Tennessee has WAMP. Not sure how much that matters in the PPM era, though for newspaper write-ups and the like it would have been nice for an AMP station to land those calls. WDZH was a curious choice for the station, but nothing that would hint a change, at least not IMO.

The WVMV call sign is from when the station became smooth jazz V98.7 in late 1995/early 1996.
