But anyway,, I was wrong about one thing,,, WDJX didnt stop the AM in 94-95, but it was so highly directional that you couldnt hear it 20 miles north of the 1080 Tower, which is not the same as the 99.7 Tower atop Floyds Knobs... WDJX was a fantastic CHR, and is the last reamining of the big South CHR stations that survived the early 90s move to Mostly CHR and ALternative,,, some stations like DJX and 95 SX in Charleston evolved to Adult Top 40,,, WDJX went with a more Dance lean at that time, as did WZPL Indianapolis and WNCI Columbus Ohio...
WDJX still continues to be one of the best mid market stations around,, sounds very much like my local WNOU Indianapolis.... Im glad WDJX didnt abandon Top 40 ever, they just skewed more Adult, and More Dance, and then more Rock, and then More Rhythmic,,, they knew how to evolve with the times, just like Z-100 and KIIS.
