99.9 Tallassee/Auburn Wildman Steve wins New Music Weekly awards

If you tune your radio to 99.9 The Rock, you’re likely to hear an eclectic mix of songs. Black Sabbath might be followed by a bluegrass tune, or Frank Zappa might be followed by Los Lonely Boys.

It’s that type of rebellion against "cookie-cutter" radio playlists that WQNR Program Director Wildman Steve Bronson says has won the station New Music Weekly’s College Station of the Year for the past three years.

Tuned in to this station, while visiting Montgomery, this past Friday. Heard a tribute to the Beatles and George Harrison.

As I was listening, I found this station to be very unique and something different.

Congrats to them, for winning that award. Hope they'll have continued success.

This is the kind of radio we need more of. Good job, Steve and WQNR.
