A clue as to the sudden changes in CBS San Francisco. This may not be the last.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Classic Hits KFRC-FM.

You have to wonder about the "wisdom" of carrying A's baseball on the station and how it negatively affected the Classic Hits format. Baseball (at least as I've observed) usually spells death for FM music formats; day games, night games, rain outs, re-scheduled games and double headers thwart any attempt at continuity. I'd suggest that KFRC-FM would have done much better if the A's weren't part of its line-up.

Just wonder what the time line might be for moving AM listeners to FM? As far as I've always read and heard, the Bay Area's topography is tough on FM penetration and is one reason that AM has long maintained its strength.

Have any of you read this story? If things don't improve for Mr. Redstone the entire CBS Radio group may be sold. And then the **** really hits the fan for all the CBS Radio Stations. And then won't we all have something to talk and whine about?

Les Moonves ownes a boatload of CBS stock and as far as I can tell, he's been the one calling the shots. Even if Sumner Redstone sells his holding (more likely than his selling Viacom), I doubt Moonves will either sell his shares or be forced out. Again, how many major broadcasters are profitable now? CBS...and....?

Disclosure: As of several days ago I now own CBS stock.
