Logan Byrnes, the son of Edd "Kookie" Byrnes is a local newscaster in Connecticut

Wonder if the anchorette on the set is the daughter of Connie Stevens? http://www.loganbyrnes.com Now wouldn't that be the ginchiest?!

BREAKING BROKEN NEWS!!!
EDD BYRNES SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES ANOTHER LAP AROUND THE SUN!!!
***KOOKIE TURNS 80!!!***
Yes Yes Dear Friends and followers of Arizona Gold It's TRUE! One week ago last Tuesday July 30th "The Kookie Kookie Lend Me Your Cake, 80th Birthday Extravaganza" Starring Edd "Kookie" Byrnes was SHOCKINGLY overlooked by the over worked and under appreciated Goldminers at The much LOVED Lumberyard 1440. I would expect that Engineer extraordinaire catfish (lower case c) will lash up a triple deck to the Nifty Nautel to provide us with a "Kookie Marathon Broadcast" on "Hot Flamin' Rock Throwin' 1440" worthy of this EXTRAORDINARY OCCASION!!!

Welcome Aboard, Metroplexual Voice of KLUV HD-2 and latest Media Hut correspondent. We know you'll serve the residents of DWG as well as we scam serve those in Buckeye!

More Goldminers on the way to Lumberyard 14~Forty??

According to Hubbard Chickboss Virginia Morris, they'll be adding between 65-70 new people at the Gumpdusky stations when they take over. http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/tv/217257761.html If you divide the total hires by the five Gumpdusky properties (actually 4.75 factoring in those 52 nighttime watts), that means up to 14 new miners will be joining the canal side crew.

So much for the 80% profit margin. YIKES!

The Strib didn't get that correct, Doc. From the press release:
Through the acquisition, Hubbard Radio will add 65 to 70 full time employees in each of the two markets. Reese said he expects no programming or personnel changes for any of the acquired stations. Hubbard Radio currently employs approximately 600 full-time employees.

The Strib got it right...we didn't, 'cause darned few in the Valley care about the 65-70 new hires for Seattle. In spite of having three separate studio locations, Gumpdusky runs a lean and very profitable operation. Hubbard's Chickboss is in Minneapolis; their CEO is in Salt Lake City, and the head bean counter is in Chicago. This will be interesting. Who knows? Maybe each gold miner at Lumberyard 14~Forty will now have an assistant ;D

It would be good if the weary Gold Miners each had an assistant to pass the pickaxe too.
As Ringo Starr said towards the end of Helter Skelter "I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!" Obviously a man who relates to the plight of the over worked electron Gold Miners...

Jay, I'm pretty sure that was John, not Ringo.

Wow. Thanks. That's one fewer thing to be wrong about...and after 45 years, it's time I got it right.

Don't sweat it, World's Most Interesting Man. While Jay Walker has the Media Hut franchise for Dalworthington Gardens, you have it for all the Dos Equis drinkers and those skinny brunettes with calabazas gigantes   Stay Ringo-ed, my friend.

Dang Wikipedia...
"Curses Foiled Again" Royal Guardsmen, Snidely Whiplashand Dick Dastardly ;D

...drove by the Lumberyard the other day, but didn't notice any Help Wanted sign on the Tower of Pow-Pow-Power. Guess Mother Hubbard won't be hiring additional goldminers until they take over on 10/01.

Meanwhile the Nurse and I continue to scratch our fezzes wondering why Gumpdusky has two different playlists of wornout oldies and songs that don't belong on a wornout oldies station. Seems at night the KSLX longhairs take over and start spinning off the wall stuff that just doesn't belong on Lumberyard 14~Forty. It's not unusual to hear Led Zepplin followed by the Shirelles. YIKES! Guess the Gumpdusky geniuses think listeners who can actually receive 52 watts of Ancient Modulation at night want to hear tie-dye generation music.

Enough of our ranting! Los Buckeye Boyz promise to stop complaining if Gumpdusky promises to yank The Weight from its every two hour rotation. Just not a happy song...and if there's one that needs to be played every other hour, try Bang 545!
