A day in the life of a lamptimer

Nothing but the oxidize tears of the weary gold miners and the many aerial assaults from migratory pigeons..

This week you'll hear these super hit songs on the home of wornout oldies....14~Forty, Kay A Zee Gee

The Tears of A Goldminer Smokey Robinson

As Oxidized Tears Go By Marianne Faithful

Lonely Goldminer Teardrops Jackie Wilson

Tracks of My Oxidized Tears Johnny Rivers

So don't let the thought of a rusty iron tower collapsing across the Cross Cut Canal frighten you. Just keep your Ancient Modulation dial locked to 14~Forty and do as 0.1 of all listeners in Valley do. There's safety in numbers! (but just in case, call the AkJef Insurance Agency in Buckeye for a tower de-erection policy quote.)

Format approved additions to the Lumberyard 14~Forty playlist:

Band of Gold(miners) Freda Payne

Tower of Oxidation Gene Mc Daniels

If I Were A Goldminer Bobby Darin

Abraham, Martin & catfish Dion

Oxidation Girl Seals & Crofts

That's right. Under 100 feet. But I was thinking it had to do with tower paint.

You're right...no paint and no lights. So what the heck holds that iron together? Almost 60 years of scorching heat, freezing cold and all kinds of haboobs and ownership boobs have taken their toll on the Tower of Pow-Pow-Power.

YIKES!!

The Handyman's Secret Weapon: Duct tape!

Amazed that no one has posted the best Gold song.

"Gold" by John Stewart (with Stevie Nicks)

Come on, you all are slipping....

How long can we keep this thread going?

"The Power of Gold," Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg

This is an obscure one but here goes: "The Gold It's in the..." by Pink Floyd. It's a track from their Obscured by Clouds album.

I'm having to really reach now...

"Tower Rust Keeps Falling on My Head" B.J. Thomas

and here's a 1440 AZ GOLD "TWIN SPIN DJ REPLAY"....

"Sunshine, Tower Rust, & Rainbows" Lesley Gore
"It's My Tower and I'll Rust if I want Too" Lesley Gore

That new vacant lot? at 44th and Cammelback someone said it will be upscale apartments that the people at kslx will not be able to afford. http://www.brewaz.com/content/index_story_free.php?story_id=8360

Yeah, that and the medical offices on the north side of Camelback....and the Chase Bank property on the east side of 44th, were slated for huge developments around '06/'07, but there was a lot of community opposition and the recession came along as they were trying to win the political battle.

Forever, we hope. If not, Nurse Jeff and I'll have to look for a real job

Heck in radio these days the pay is so low you're lucky to afford a nice cardboard box in a quiet alley...a cozy dumpster with all the amenities is just a dream for many...

The bunkhouse at Lumberyard 14~Forty will be housing more miners once Mother Hubbard takes over. Nurse Jeff has dibs on the top bunk, and that's fine by me 'cause hot air rises...even underground! 8)
