A day in the life of a lamptimer

Not looking forward to September. Fewer hours of 5kw music pow-pow-power. hmmm...wonder is skywave interference will cause the Nurse and me to like "The Weight" any more than we currently do?


btw...September is the last month of Gumpdusky control of Lumberyard 14~Forty. If the deal hasn't been approved by the end of the month, Mother Hubbard does a LMA. (in the case of Lumberyard 14~Forty, that should read LMA-O)

Without a doubt, Lumberyard 14~Forty is one of the finest wornout oldies station on the planet, and richly deserves all the awards their 52 watts deserve!
 
Hey...what does this "Senior Member" by my name mean? Am I like the Old Gringo...OLD?! Not liking the sound of this at all...and if I'm Senior, does that make Nurse Jeff Señorita Member? I was kinda glad the new set up wouldn't take my old username and password. l LIKE being a "junior member" . Just hope it won't lose me my staff tenure at the Media Hut.

Not to worry...all the instructors at the Buckeye Media Hut are treated equally: low pay, long hours, an impossible boss and no covered parking. But at least you get a free fez after your 25th year teaching!

And now back to Lumberyard 14~Forty. The Nurse and I wuz thinking of posting a wornout oldie each day that hasn't made the KAZG Hot 300 list. Today's oldie is Alive 'n Kickin' with Tighter and Tighter. A lot of people thought this was Tommy James, but it really wasn't...however James co-wrote the song. ...and today's suggestion for the KAZG 300 wornout oldies library comes from 1968. The A side of this record was "Love Is Alright", which like a '76 Gremlin, went absolutely nowhere. Someone flipped it and played the instrumental version of the A side and it climbed to #2 on Billboard's highly hyped Hot 100 chart. No doubt you've heard this song played at college football games and got up to shake, shake, shake.. shake your booty. The next recommended wornout oldie for Lumberyard 14~Forty from Los Buckeye Boyz is a Top 40 deejay's fave from the early '70s. Perfect for top of the hour; out of a jingle, or segueing from a cold ending ballad, this song was immortalized by numerous jocks referring to the title as the three kinds of people who work in (insert station call letters here) sales department: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThToz3UmIL4 hmmm...that line still works today!
