at aprox 8:30 am,, got Oldies on 1480,, signal fair but didnt leave it long enough for an ID,, also on 1460,, heard bruce Springstein Dancing in the dark,, then it faded out into talk,, now the music faded back in,,, song was bad bad lerow brown.... Not sure if its the same station,, faded back into talk and hash...

There are oldies nearby on both channels...1460 is WJCP/North Vernon & 1480 is WDJO/Cincinnati. An hour after sunrise, those are pretty good bets.

Thnks as usual Bob,, this new Grundig s350DL is a really good radio for AM and SW,, The FM sensativity is great too, but its not as selective as I would like,, It cant pull 2 co channels apart, but it certainly brings in the ones on open FREQs.. Cant wait till this winter when AM and SW Skywave is in full affect. Not alot impressive going on with FM this late,, except for good early morning extended groundwave, but if its not 100s of miles away, and its bleeding into my locals, its just a pain in the but to me.. Like when I heard beaver country on 96.7,,, most DXers would love that, but not if your trying to get clean recpetion from a local Class A 18 miles down the road.

I'd bet that WBWB wasn't amused if they were even aware of it. Heck, most stations don't even know when they pop off the air, much less when their coverage is affected for a few hours.

Im guessing not,, wbwb sells airtime in martinsville, despite its fickle signal here.

Midwest,

Your oldies on 1480 also could have been WGVU from Kentwood, MI. They're a simulcast of WGVS (850) from Muskegon. A very rare station as they are owned by Grand Valley State University and was a Public Radio outlet for several years.

Looks like we should nominate 1480 for Oldies Frequency of The Year...at least in this area.
