I heard a tag on a PSA last week being brought to you by the RI Broadcaster's Association & was curious so I did a web search & came up with:

Anyway it's a site that links to various state broadcasters'associations & the one for RI actually takes you to the WNRI station website.
But one link led to another & I saw in Massachusetts that there's an overnight opening at WMVY. It's weekend, overnight, part-time, paired with production assistant with some on-air experience preferred.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say how much I like WMVY. The selection of music on the station is very different from any other, almost like a college station with proper production and tip top disc jockeys. I get the station on 96.5 when I'm in the Newport/North Kingstown Area, and on 92.7 when I'm further North. I know they stream as well. Take a listen if you're into pop/folk/rock... it is a true pleasure. Congrats to the programmer!

Stuck On You took place partially on Martha's Vineyard. Helps to get a grasp of the local color before relocating somewhere you can't reach by driving.

The question I have is, how much other employment (of any sort) is available on the Vineyard? It would be a perfect "foot-in-the-door" job for someone who enjoys the station, but I don't see how you could get by financially there on just a part-time radio job. You'd have to do some sort of other work to support yourself, and you'd be isolated from the mainland.

I'm not familiar with the situation there, maybe I'm wrong, but I'd imagine that employment opportunities in general are limited, and I'm guessing that commuting to another job on the mainland would be a hassle.
