A Super Oversight By Supertalk 99.7 On Day Of CT School Shootings

I thought I would hear what Dave Ramsey would have to say in his opening segment hours after that awful elementary school shooting in Connecticut. As expected, poignant and heartfelt. That didn't distract him from doing his scheduled theme show for the day, "giving." Can't fault him for that.

After that segment, WWTN cut into the show and plugged in the live feed of ABC News Radio. Can't fault them for that, regardless of Ramsey's subject matter for the day, or his lame-duck status on the station. But there was one thing they could have done without: running a spot for a gun store in Nashville voiced by Phil Valentine! Yes, I know it probably aired online only (it better not have aired on the terrestrial version of the station - though if it did, I'm sure we'd be hearing about it by now). Still, it's beside the point. Bad timing for a promo like that.

Guns and Leather was the sponsor for multiple spots that day. I'm assuming it was pre-planned before the daily events, but someone should of pulled the plug on that ad. I'm a strong gun rights advocate, but found that ad to be in very poor taste, even if it was unintentional. I didn't mind the gun debate conversation during the phil valentine show, but no sense in the ad.

At least one person was obviously there to yank Dave Ramsey and plug in ABC News - would it be asking much to check and see if any questionable spots were scheduled to run during that time?
