With the news that WBRF-FM 98.1 is now playing Oldies, I hear rumors that Curtis is about to take WSJS-AM in Winston-Salem to Oldies!!!! Has anyone else heard this???
WBRF has mixed in COUNTRY oldies with its regular country and junk for years. Surely that's what you mean.

I can't see a locally oriented news and information station going oldies. Not in this day and age. Maybe WMFR. Hopefully WMFR. Possibly WCOG.
Okay, I hadn't scrolled down enough to see there WAS a topic. This was something that would have deserved a topic.

I heard Charlie Brown and "On the Beach" playing on WBRF this past weekend. I couldn't believe it! Beach music on a Country station????? What are they thinking???? That can't go over too well. Guess they followed it with a Bluegrass show. What a dopey move, and I've been a BRF fan in the past! Anyone who knows anything about programming knows that's not a smart move.

Atticus, what are your programming credentials. A few months on the morning show at Hitz94 does not make you a radio guru!

Never been on the Hitz94 morning show, but I have been in radio for a very long time and I've talked with some of the best programmers in the business. I've also personally seen what happens when you air programming that's not true to what you are. Remember the old saying "Those who don't pay attention to history are doomed to repeat it"? Hell, all you have to do is read "Positioning, the Battle For Your Mind" by Reese and Trout, and it will make it very clear that you need to remain true to your listeners perception of what you are. I have nothing against WBRF, but someone is making a big boo-boo.
