ABC-13 welcomes a new anchor to the Eyewittness News staff

Her name is Sherron Melton, and she's from San Antonio. She comes to ABC-13 from Ken's-TV, and She's replacing Minerva Perez, who left ABC-13 very quietly. More ABC-13 news: Travis Herzog is now doing weather for the 11 AM & 4 PM newscast, While Tim Heller is doing the weather now at 5, 6, & 10 PM. Doug Brown is now doing weather only on weekend mornings on 13.
 
Minerva is gone???? Oh Noooooo. I will seriously miss her, and her straight forward solidly professional way of presenting the news. She projects a warmth many anchors wish they had. Anybody know why she left?
 
On yesterday's newscast, Art Rascon joins Melanie for the 11 AM newscast as he took over Minerva's chair., and I believe it's permanent. Art & Mel will also continue to do Live at 5 as well.
