Which one of these satellite-delivered formats do you prefer? We have the W1 one on a small AM station and the 'Oldies Radio' on a larger FM station, and I have to go with ABC's Oldies Radio....very fresh and upbeat sounding, Westwood's sounds rather stuffy and just rather boring, to me. What do you think?

ABC'S 'OLDIES RADIO' OR WESTWOOD ONE'S 'OLDIES CHANNEL?'

If the WW1 format is the one I'm thinking of, it stinks. (I know it is WW1, and I only see one Oldies format) Then again, WCLS is a crappy station. Their announcer is so bad that I couldn't figure out why they were IDing as WZLS for the first several dozen times I heard the ID. And to fill (what I guess is) a mandatory break on their "ad-free" weekends, the announcer talks about how great 'Classic Hits 97.7' is through all but :30 of the spotset, with the rest being weather.
(I know, they call it Classic Hits [Jones's brand], but it is WW1)
Oldies Radio is probably one of my favorite oldies "stations" - that one and WIAU/Indianapolis

Ric Santos is a great DJ. Thats about all they got on WW1.
ABC Oldies radio is carried here in town on the local AM station. They blab way too much especially in the afternoon. I like Jones Oldies the best. Its great.

Though it was probably in its heyday when it had "Zippo in the Morning", I've always liked the ABC "Oldies Radio" (aka "Pure Gold") format. It was, at least, probably the best 24/7 format out there. I haven't heard much of it recently...the only local station which carried it, a 1000 watt AM a few miles southwest of here, switched to WW1 a few years ago.
And speaking of that, I don't like that format as much as the ABC one, but it's serviceable.
The WW1 formats are no longer owned by them, by the way...the folks at Dial-Global bought all the WW1 formats not long ago.
