Adíos Radio y Música - Radio and Records Latin Charts

Radio and Records published their last edition of latin based charts last week. The company had initially made a foray into the Latin markets with an industry newspaper 15 years ago, but stopped publishing it in 2002. Since that time, it has concentrated on publishing charts and news (edited very well by Jackie Madrigal) via the web. I enjoyed getting the latest updates every Tuesday and will the service. I presume most of the business has gone to RadioNotas/Monitor Latino. Too bad that another info. source has bit the dust!

If most of the business has gone to Radio Notas, we're in trouble. Radio Notas gets their "notas" from R&R and All Access, then they do a terrible job translating them, putting out misinformation left and right. I would never rely on them as a credible source for information, but I know many people do.

I wonder why, if there are roughly 900 - 1000 Spanish-language stations in the U.S., we can't get decent industry information in Spanish, at least online. A few websites have come and gone (Radio Noticias, Radio Revista, and Radio Al Aire come to mind), but nothing has been done on a professional level. Perhaps the advertising dollars just aren't there yet (and I'm starting to wonder if they will ever be there).
