Added Talent to Nights at 103.3 Amp Radio

Dustin “Slater” Carlson to Nights on WODS, Boston “103.3 AMP Radio.” The CBS Radio CHR outlet brings personality Dustin “Slater” Carlson in to become the night jock hosting the 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight shift. Carlson most recently was afternoon host, assistant program director, and creative director at the company’s rock KXTE, Las Vegas “X1075,” serving there for nearly eight years. “103.3 AMP Radio” program director Dan Mason states, “’Slater’ is a unique communicator, a stand-out talent, and one of the most creative people in the industry. I know he will be a great addition to the ‘103.3 AMP Radio’ team and help us as we build America’s next great CHR brand.”

Is it just me that thinks that AMP will go nowhere and perhaps will go away....

CC switched Harbor to Evolution, so the people who listened to AMP for a few months solely for the dance material switched over there.
The excitement of the station has faded...

WJMN is fighting tooth and nail right now, and their music selection has improved greatly over the past 2 weeks.

KISS has always been strong.

With HOT coming to town, they are filling a gap that is something different.

All AMP is offering is a middle ground between Kiss and Jam'n that is really not needed.

And I have noticed a lot of billboards lately for WJMN at least out here in the Worcester area. Does anyone know if they still plan to relay WJMN on the 94.9 translator that currently carries WTAG-AM?

But where does Amp go if this format "goes nowhere"? The only musical formats left that make any sense demographically would be Urban AC, and we all know that isn't going to work in Boston for many reasons, and contemporary country, and this just isn't a strong enough country market to accommodate two stations in that format. It's certainly not going back to oldies. So perhaps in three years, this is where WBZ(AM) lands when the demographic shift, consumer preferences and advertiser 55+ phobia force even the mightiest of blowtorch AMs to flee to the FM band.

Only problem is what then do you do with one of the most powerful AM's in the country?

What reasonable purpose would it serve to put WBZ on FM?

I do agree AMP is toast.

Addition: WBZ is already on FM on 98.5 HD3.

Doesn't count. Has to be on a signal that everyone in the market can hear. And it doesn't matter how mighty the blowtorch signal is if (a) only 25 percent of all listeners are even listening to stations on AM and (b) radios are increasingly being produced without an AM band.

I think Amp will last about the same amount of time as WHTT did, 3 to 4 years.

Sounds about right. WHTT hit their peak and once they slipped a bit, that was it, done! But is this the same CBS of 25 years ago?

I don't know how you think amp is toast. I know there going against kiss and hot but amp plays more music then kiss and less commercials. Isn't that what people listen to the radio for the music not to hear commercials

I could be wrong about AMP, but it seems by positioning themselves between Kiss and JAM'N they have no identity.

I understand more music in the morning though, but now with Hot969 they seem lost in the shuffle. Hot969 seems to be getting a lot more attention.

Of course all of these have some of the same crossover songs. Can I get away from "Girl On Fire"? I do like that JAM'N is getting less pop.

AMP would have worked better if there were'nt so much competition like 104.7 in Portland Maine.

you could say the same thing about wnow inNew York but there still around despite the amount of people of the New York board who wish krock would return.
