Air America 1090 Seattle Internet Surveys/Discussion Board of Miller,Hartmann,Lionel,Howard,Springer,Goodman

I think this is very interesting and unique...Air America AM 1090 ("Seattle's Progressive Talk") is conducting polls of hosts along with discussion forums:

http://207.126.126.134/voteonshows.shtml

With about 30-50 votes per each of the six hosts, looks like Hartmann is winning with 93% saying they like the show, 7% they don't like it. The six shows are all on weekends as of two weekends ago, replacing many best-of Air America programs...

The others are doing poorly, except for Amy Goodman who is 90%+. 77% negative for Lionel, 56% negative for Springer, 45% negative for Steph Miller.

This might reflect the market and the station demographics...the humor of Lionel, Randi Rhodes, Stephanie Miller may not appeal that well to Seattlites, but I'm not really sure. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if they are going to develop a new lineup based on the surveys. It will be interesting to see what they do. Here's my proposed weekend lineup...but it's for older listeners since the comedy shows from NYC might not appeal to Seattlites. However, again, I really don't know if this is an issue or not. Is it?

Saturday:

7a-10a Gardening in the NW with Scott Conner (local) (LIVE)
10a-1p Thom Hartmann (best of)
1p-4p Bob Brinker (LIVE)
4p-7p Laura Flanders (LIVE)
7p-9p Robert F Kennedey Jr.
9p-MID Best of Doug Basham

Sunday:

7a-10a Lee Giles - cooking show (local)
10a-1p Thom Hartmann (best of)
1p-4p Bob Brinker (LIVE)
4p-7p Laura Flanders (LIVE)
7p-9p Best of Whitley Streiber
9p-MID Best of Doug Basham
Edited by this Tom: on 08/03/05 07:10 AM.

Re: Air America 1090 Seattle Internet Surveys/Discussion Board of Miller,Hartmann,Lionel,Howard,Springer,Goodman

I saw the first one....and Randi was getting 65% above the hosts on that screen.
I read the feedback for Stephanie and was questioning why her show isn't as well liked....but everyone has a right to opinion...i think Stephanie was great.

I like Lionel a little....i heard his show out in SD, he was a bit hostile to his listeners who weren't informed but his show was palatable...

While not a Springer fan, I think people have his other show in mind and don't give him a chance....and once again (IMHO), Seattle doesn't need Springer....maybe the areas like Spokane or other rural parts of WA would like him better...

One point i read about Amy Goodman I share, why broadcast her show when its available online...or brodcast her show on the weekend...give that spot to a host (local or syndicated...doesnt matter)

Im glad Seattle has Thom on....i think hes just fine..so i can understand a high approval for his show...
