Aircheck: KCWV "The Wave" (SMN) Kansas City 24 September 1987

In September 1987, KCWV Leavenworth-Kansas City signed on as an affiliate of the Satellite Music Network's nationally syndicated "Wave" format. A few days ago, I received a copy of an aircheck from their first day on the air in the new format. Here is a link to those two files, courtesy of David Brewer:

Just got around to listening to these air checks.
What a terrific format The Wave was when it began. I would kill to hear something similar to this now.

BTW can anybody ID the tune @ the 24:00 mark on the first link??

It is "The Wild Surf" by Tom Grant. It is from his 1985 CD "Just The Right Moment." This song took years for me to identify, and I found it by accident.

I liked this era of the format too. And 'unregistered' please drop me a PM if you can.
