Aircheck: KMCK (Power 105.7) Siloam Springs, AR 10 October 1996

In October 1996, I took a road trip to northwest Arkansas to visit my relatives. In addition, I took a boom box and rolled tape of some of the radio stations while I was there. As I recall the weather was crisp during my time there. One of the places I got to see was White Rock Mountain. While the view was scenic, to get there required driving several miles of a gravel road.

Here is 90 minutes of KMCK--"Power 105.7" from 10 October 1996. The files are 192/44.1 and can be found here:

Thanks for sharing! One of the last years of Power 105.7 as a locally owned station, before being sadly being sold to Cumulus. I can't remember exactly when that happened but it seemed like that was sometime in the late 90s/early 2000s. I think '96 or '97 was the last year of them as the flagship station for "Music Channel One" that was syndicated to a few small town CHR outlets nationwide.

Heard a few songs that I haven't heard on the radio (terrestrial or satellite) in nearly 2 decades:
Hootie & The Blowfish "Sad Caper"
Fun Factory "Don't Go Away"
Patti Rothberg "Inside"
La Bouche "Fallin' In Love"

I wish I recorded some unscoped airchecks from KMCK from the 80s and 90s! Keep these coming, if you have more.

White Rock Mountain is one of my favorite places in Arkansas. Not only for the beautiful views, but also good place to DX. Depending on what side of the mountain you were on, I have heard stations as far away as Oklahoma City, Memphis and Tyler, Texas.
