Airchecks on new Reelradio site now accessible to the blind

This message is for those of you who are, like myself, totally blind or without enough sight where you have to rely on specialized software (JAWS and NVDA are the two most widely used in the U.S.) to read the screen for you. Tonight, I decided to check out the new Reelradio site at

and I was surprised to discover that the buttons inside of the frame where each individual aircheck resides are now properly marked for screenreaders. While I had been to the site several times in the past, to play the airchecks, I had to remember to tab once when I found the frame containing the actual aircheck I wanted to hear and then press the Enter key. JAWS, the screenreader of choice, wasn't reading any of the buttons inside the frame and I doubted that NVDA could, either. I had made a note on the old Reelradio site about this last year (before my subscription ran out) and one of the Board members said they would discuss it with the museum that owns the new site. I'm now *very* happy to say that yes, listening to radio airchecks on the new site is now completely accessible. And, if anybody from either the old or new Reelradio sites happens to be reading this, thank you again for giving myself and other blind and visually impaired people access to the buttons inside the frame to play the available airchecks.

That is great news.

My YL worked with a blind couple, and many years earlier I volunteered for a SCA reading service.

And Ted, yesterday I listened to the KHJ aircheck from 46 years ago on my commute home from work.

With the new site, my hope is that the comments section from the old board get migrated to the new one, and allow for new comments to exhibits.
