Al Primo Documentary about the origins of Eyewitness News

This documentary features the time Al Primo was News Director at KYW and WABC-TV where Eyewitness News was a concept in local TV News.

Al Primo's influence on San Francisco TV specifically is that he reassigned Roger Grimsby from KGO-TV to WABC-TV which lead to Jerry Jensen and Van Amburg to take over Grimsby's San Francisco spot. Also another influence Al Primo had in San Francisco was that he made all the Group W Owned stations like KPIX and KYW use the name "Eyewitness News" in those cities which in turn cause KGO-TV to use the name Channel 7 News Scene while Primo rename WABC and KABC TV news as Eyewitness News.

Best wishes,
