ALEX FM Is On and Here's A Sample of What I'm Hearing

Lynyrd Skynynrd
The Eagles
Bachman, Turner and Overdrive
Tom Petty
Bon Jovi
Grand Funk Railroad
Fleetwood Mac
Kansas
Eric Clapton
John Mellencap
Pat Benatar
Journey
Pink Floyd
Eddie Money
Bob Seger and His Silver Bullet Band
Don Henley
Elton John
Supertramp
Huey Lewis and the News
Robert Palmer
Boston
Michael MacDonald
Cheap Trick
Aerosmith
Jackson Browne
Billy Joel
Guns N Roses
Bryan Adams
ZZ Top
Van Halen
Hall and Oates
Starship
Van Morrison
The Hollies
The Black Crowes
Jesus Jones
Derrick and Dominoes
Thin Lizzy
The Boss Bruce Springsteen
Orleans
and of course R.E.O. Speedwagon (Playing them now, as I'm posting)

It looks like ALEX FM will be leaning Classic Rock. Haven't heard no classic R&B tunes on here yet. Might in due course but I'll have to stay tuned.

P.S. They may soon have a web site. If they get one, I'll be sure to pass along the address to you.

There was a story on radio-info this morning about the WALX format change. The writer said the station had changed to a classic hits format. Of course, he also said a few weeks ago that WNPT had changed to classic hits, too (as opposed to adult hits). ???

Today they had Paul Alexander on there. This other person is doing the ads, weather and ID's for the station. He might get to host a music program on here, in due course.

Right now they're doing Paul Finebaum. Not too big a fan of his but I'm liking their musical presentation. It's a breath of fresh air.

Sounds like Eagle 106.9

I hope you get my FRIEND Richard Matthews on the air. I know he is working in Selma after he was downsized up here in Jefferson City, MO. Great guy!!!

Hope he does well there.

He's on now. Hope he'll be the regular Midday Voice for ALEX FM. If he's the man, hope he does very well.

P.S. WJAM will be moving to 1340 AM tomorrow morning. Just heard the announcement, a few minutes ago.

B.T.W. As of this post I'm now hearing an R&B classic for the first time. It's the legendary Bill Wilthers doing his classic smash Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. I knew it would only be a matter of time before they started doing the classic soul tunes too.
