Alfonso Riberio named new host of America's Funniest Videos

hmmm, Steve Harvey on Family Feud, Terry ??? on Millionaire, Alfonso on AFV... Are white hosts asking for too much money?

...and Silver Spoons too. He's one of those actors that are type cast to me. Every time I see him, I expect for him to break out in the "Carlton dance". I like his energy, hope he does well on AFV. Thanks for the heads up, Marc.

Millionaire's host is Terry Crews. The rest of Fakeem's statement is a bait and really has no place here on the forum.

Alfonso was also on "Are We There Yet" and I think he was Terry Crews' boss. Always heard, almost never seen. Maybe never seen.

I don't know how I feel about this. But he's got to be better than John Fugelsang.

How is this show still on the air. I would have thought it would have died when You Tube got big. Who watches it now, old people and young families?

I agree Don. I thought You Tube would've killed this show. As for who watches it? Couldn't tell you. - Who is the target audience of TVLAND? They run the show in marathon blocks on Saturdays and Sundays. TVLAND needs to get rid of AFV and bring back Rosanne to their marathon blocks on the weekend. The show is currently airs select nights of the week 1:20AM-2:30AM and that's too late (or too early) for me. I don't get any of the other channels that air Roseanne. - CMT (which is TVLAND's sister) and WE.

I watch this because I'm not about to use my valuable online time at the library watching this sort of thing. The best stuff has already been picked out for you. On Youtube you don't have that. Except there's a lot of dog videos that should have never made it to air.

It would cost more than I want to pay to be able to do it at home. And that's a good thing.

And YouTube doesn't have that many videos of people getting hit in the groin (something AFV loves)!

BTW, I think AFV has been beating "60 Minutes" among younger viewers from the beginning (though overall, the ticking stopwatch still prevails).

60 Minutes viewers are too old for Disneyworld

I saw Tom in the mountains and nearly told him I would miss him and hoped Alfonso would make me happy.

Seriously, I won't do this at home with my slow Internet but see if Myers Park United Methodist in Charlotte NC, which is surely big enough to have its own site, has a photo of its pastor.

Found it! You have to scroll down but you look for the senior pastor. That photo is kind of hard to see but I think you'll get the message.

A former pastor at my church preached for Homecoming; he was mentioned above. I walked up to him and said I'd miss him but trusted Alfonso would do a good job. He didn't know what I meant. No one else who heard me knew either until I explained. Look at his photo using the above link.

I don't like him, but maybe he'll grow on me. In some situations he does just fine, and with the rest I guess he'll take some getting used to.

He'll always be Will Smith's cousin Carlton to me. Though he was Terry Crews' unseen boss on "Are We There Yet?" He seemed more mature.

Mature is not necessary here, so he's letting his childish nature show.

I hardly ever watch AFV anymore, but Alfonso is doing a good job. AFV nowadays is "funny" videos of people falling and injuring themselves. "Hahahaha he fell and hurt himself!" It was much better a LONG TIME ago. We watch 60 Minutes at 7PM Sundays, over on CBS.

And why is that? Can you provide specifics?

I think what has made the show so enjoyable in recent years has been Tom, but the material seems a lot like his. Some of the same writers are there. As I watch more, Alfonso grows on me but I don't think he'll be as good as Tom.

Something they did last night was "It could have been worse." I was relieved it wasn't as bad as what John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes used to do. They came up with a way things could have been worse for the person in the specific video, and to me they were almost never funny.

Bob Saget was a really funny host - and I enjoyed when they used to have people at various ABC stations throughout the country vote on the $100,000 winner. I remember seeing a KOMO-4 Seattle audience once or twice on the reruns.
John & Daisy were not the best fit.
Tom was a good host. He's a busy guy still, doing Dancing with the Stars. I still remember when he did Hollywood Squares in the late 90s and early 00s.
