All 3 Local Cumulus Music Stations Covering American Music Awards

WPLJ, Nash FM, and WFAS are providing coverage of the American Music Awards, airing on ABC TV. This is the result of a partnership between Cumulus and Dick Clark Productions.
It seems over the top to have 3 stations devoting much of their time this evening to this one TV show. It is a bit strange in particular to hear Nash carrying hours of programming devoted to it, as country music artists are only a relatively small part of the program.
Is this unusual? I cannot think of any recent music event that received hours of simultaneous continuous coverage from three local stations. I believe that even Clear Channel's IHeart Music Festival was only covered in detail by Z 100.

I've never knew that all Cumulus stations covers the AMA's. in the Poughkeepsie area, WCZX's "Mix 97.7" and WKXP/WZAD's "The Wolf" which are two of the HV stations that are now owned by Townsquare carries the AMA's which is a one-time thing for these ex-Cumulus HV stations. Now that Townsquare owns the Poughkeepsie stations now, they should pull the plug on all of the syndicated programming from Cumulus networks like "CMT Radio Live", "American Country Countdown" and "Kickin' It With Kicks" to make way for new shows from Townsquare and in addition to that, iHeartRadio will also pull the plug on all Cumulus stations, so that it will go to Rdio. Townsquare needs to have streaming on all Poughkeepsie stations using the Radiopup app instead of iHeartRadio. I hope Cumulus and iHeartRadio deal will end by the end of this year.

The shows like "CMT Radio Live", "American Country Countdown" and "Kickin' It With Kicks" will still be on WNSH's "Nash" for now.
