All in the Family Reruns in Canada in the Late '90s/Early 2000s

Couple of things: first, I haven't been here in a while; second, this might fit more within the "Canada TV" section.

This pertains to an odd situation (my description at best) regarding when Global Television here in Canada long had reruns of "All in the Family" and aired them in the late '90s and early 2000s on Prime (now DTour, which has a completely different lineup now than 20+ years ago) and then DejaView: each time I saw the end credits of the episodes, it would show up the '90s Viacom banner. In all other scenarios, such as U.S. networks/stations airing them on their lineups, it comes up the Sony logo.

I wonder how it got to be that Viacom ended up with the quirk that was for Canadian viewers at the time. (And every other Norman Lear show CHCH has run over the last 3 years (there are others not yet shown here) has also had the Sony logo at the end.)
