Hi everyone. I've been listening to All News 106.7 the past couple of days. They've been doing an excellent job. Of course, there's one problem as I'm listening tonight and as I'm typing up this post. The problem is neither WYAY nor News/Talk WSB-AM/WSBB-FM are mentioning the severe weather warnings that have been in effect. All counties affected are all in the listening areas for both WYAY & WSB-AM/WSBB-FM. There were severe thunderstorm warnings for Glascock & Warren counties earlier east of Atlanta. There was also a warning in effect for Pike County near Zebulon south of Atlanta. I found out about the alerts through monitoring the NWS radar. All I have to say is to be patient on WYAY, they just launched a couple of days ago. My suggestion for WYAY would be to have the anchors mention the alerts each time each one is issued. In other words, have them read the entire severe weather warning statement including the locations in & near the path of the storm. No, they don't have to read the final paragraph at the end of the statement, "If you see wind damage, large hail, or significant flooding...etc." When watches are issued, just have the anchors mention the counties included. They don't have to have an in-house meteorologist to do all of that. They can continue getting the forecasts from FOX5. No problem with that. As for News/Talk WSB-AM/WSBB-FM, this is just their off night when it comes to severe weather alerts. What about WGST-AM/W222AF 92.3 FM? I don't listen to them for severe weather alerts anymore because they only cover alerts for inner metro Atlanta. I just heard Mark Woolsey on WYAY bring up what was on the radar, that's good. Kudos to him for giving a radar update. That is all.
