All News 106.7 is Here…Finally [last song, audio, first impressions]

106.7 sounds good. Just like WSB. WSB will have to step its game up. One thing they need to do; on TuneIn Radio, it still shows as an Athens station.

People might look at Atlanta radio and not notice the station is there.

It is under "Atlanta" on iHeartRadio.

"Listen More, Know More......AllNews106.7"

"Hello hello hello, I'm Connie Cummings: Covering issues and stories that concern busy metro Atlantans is what I strive for as a reporter. I’ve covered education, transportation, taxes, crime, politics – you name it – during my career in Atlanta radio news." She is going to be this board's laughing stock of this whole station. She does sound nice, though.

allnews 106.7 is just plain better at the morning show, and this is only their first day). It's "News when YOU want it....."

Again, this is only allnews' first day. WSB should be worried.

Looks like quality over quantity. ;)

What do you mean?

Will allnews1067 air World News Tonight? So glad ABC Radio is back, Yay for WYAY!

Middays are off to a bad start. I don't like the fact that there is only one anchor. That annoys me. They were running ABC News and the Legal ID at the same time. John Lisk is the single anchor.

Understandable pace, no yellow journalism, no rush trying to cram dozens of headlines and self-promotions into your head, That speaks quality.

The launch is easier when you've hired a professional and experienced news team ready to go. Great move and great benefit for the listener.

I tried it on for size this morning. Not too bad..I like that they do traffic on the 6's (if I heard that correctly) 24/7. I like being able to count on that kind of info when commuting. Sirius has it's traffic/weather thing but they reformatted the cities so now Atlanta shares with Baltimore and DC whereas it was just Atlanta and Miami before...not to mention that their info isn't always up to the minute.

ABC news is good though...Doug Limmeric (sp?) is pretty entertaining

Doug Limerick, ABC News mornings 5-10 am. Been there for ever IIRC.

Well, John Lisk sound so non-personality. Two anchors, people. This is not difficult. He needs to turn up the microphone. Also, they need to acknowledge the editors.

Other all news station follow this staffing formula. Two people during drive and one person at other times. I was not happy with the two people until I listened to it for a about a half hour. I had to get used to their rhythm. In the beginning it annoyed me that one anchor finished the other anchor's story.

Yeah... the TOH ID was sloppy this time around. As we have all been saying, if that is the worst we can come up with on day one, they are doing great! :)

Lisk needs a board operator. He is terrible. Joanne Feldman need to be at a higher volume than the theme music.

I'll give it to them, I heard the sign on at 0500 after the ticking clock audio montage. Very polished and lively product.
But after 20 minutes of listening, my head hurt. I guess I'm just not into the whole "all news" concept. I would say it will be a great tool for keeping one awake when working these C-shifts at the hospital and have to drive home early mornings when my eyes are red.

It sounds like it is programmed for a 15 minute listener. Something that WSB has being a talker is they keep people tuned in longer with Boortz, Hannity and all the right wing mouthpieces on the dial.

Will it produce the numbers? I am betting the Cloud Company is paying dearly for the seasoned talent to pull this off. WEMP 101.9 in NYC flipped from rock last year and results are dismal, .4, their numbers as an active rock were better than that.

Oh well, back to I Heart Radio....Clear Channel has a good thing going with this app. Glad I have unlimited data on my Iphone until Verizon manages to take it away.

I think it will get about the ratings that WYAY had. That is about the average of all news stations. All News stations are not for long term listening. That 680 Yhe Fan woman is terrible.

Yeah call me a male chauvinistic pig, lol, but a man needs to do sports. Yes we know the Thrashers were a team in ATL, geesh...

Does someone have a sound file of the flip?

Very nice, clean, and very professionally done. They seem to have launched with a full spot load (meaning the sales weasels are selling, unless the buyers are being comped). Good pace, gets your attention but not intrusive. A little repetitive but not bad considering what they are trying to accomplish with the format.

I didn't notice a bunch of loud sounders (like WSB's flying metal trash can), which makes for an easier listen. I did notice the ABC News sounder...adds some gravitas.

The one bug is they need to address is to not duplicate ABC network national/world story coverage with local coverage of the same topic. Let the local guys stick to local content unless leading in/out.

One thing that surprised me--this station is STICKY! I thought I would tune in and tune out. This will bode well for TSL.

Like the familiar voices--I am glad they kept most of the AGH on-air staff. Teaming up with 680 for sports (no surprise, short walk down the hall) and Fox 5 for weather works well.

Hopefully they will ease up on the promos once they get established...get some more content in there.

All in all, a great start. I was very pleasantly surprised. Cox needs to worry.

Side note: I was listening to Journey as well and noticed NO changes there. Kinda surprised they weren't sending disappointed AGH listeners to Journey.

less polished in middays and i see Talmadge has a long shift. Need to at least edit weather forcast to not tell people to watch good day atlanta after 10am when the show is over. Its 11:39 so they need a new forcast.

they have mentioned on air that they will use its internet presence to tie into the station. So far the site has no local news and the schedule is not updated with anchors. The only change i see today is the listen live link. I guess their webmaster is not ready.
