All News 106.7 is Here…Finally [last song, audio, first impressions]

less polished in middays and i see Talmadge has a long shift. Need to at least edit weather forcast to not tell people to watch good day atlanta after 10am when the show is over. Its 11:39 so they need a new forcast.

Don't get me wrong: he has a great voice. But, he needs practice. Anchors are operating the boards: and he evidently has never done that before. They need a woman, but this is his first day. I am sure the PD will make adjustments as necessary. I think that they might alternate anchors in middays and nights between males and females. They do need to have two anchors at all times, though. And preferably a man and a woman. I am about ready for Greg Black and Cheryl Castro to start the 2 o' clock news. But what about this "WYAY and Cumulus were not the only ones wanting to start an all news station in Atlanta". Who CBS? Radio One?

It is 12:50 PM and we are still listening to the same recorded weather forecast that was recorded at 5:00 AM this morning. I would think that Fox 5 would update the forecast more than once for seven hours.

Oh, did anybody notice they are using Fox 5 for local news clips? That is a huge money saver. That is a very good arrangement.

Sounds like a sly swipe at CBS.

It's also a great way for the other media in ATL (Channel 5, ATL Business Chronicle, etc.) to play Let's All Beat Up On Cox.

It's not the same one. This morning, she joined Michelle and Andy live at :36 past every hour. After that was done, she recorded the next hr.'s forecast. They are using the one from the 10:00 newscast.

I am excited to hear Ken Cook on the radio!

The RDS has not changed since the flip. I know from the other thread that they can't put anything distracting, but leaving it "Atlanta's Greatest Hits 106.7" is lame.

Bill, you are listening closer than I am. I had to take a two hour nap. :)

I just heard an updated forecast at 12:55 PM.

While typing this, they joined the 1:00 PM network news with a PERFECT back time. The mid-day guy is getting the hang of it. I do like that he does play the sounders a little brighter (louder) and lets them establish before talking over the sounder. When I am in the car and am zoned, that sounder will cause me to pay attention to traffic, etc.

I am listening on my laptop. The stream player has the All News 106.7 logo, but that is all that has changed. The now playing says AGH and the label at the top also says AGH.

When will Tune-In and IHeartRadio apps change from AGH to All News 106.7?

Re: "All News 106.7" Schedule. Really?

I'm sure it will be for the anchor schedule. They might even post their "clock" to let people know when they do traffic, weather, sports, stocks, etc.

I agree. You can tell, he is classic old school. I am too, but I know how to work a board.

Re: "All News 106.7" Schedule. Really?

I like their weather page on the site, at least it's different and not a just a link to Channel 5 or somewhere else.

They need something new & different for traffic, and not just a link to Ga. DOT.

"It really sucks to get stuck in traffic"

It will be interesting to see if they use Ken Cook during severe weather events. He is the only guy I might trust as much as Mellish when it comes to life/death situations.
So far it seems to be a good product. It will certainly get a preset on my radio.......

I wondered if you would catch that. Now for a break while I do some other things. Later I am running errands and am actually going to listen in the car and see how it sounds in HDj.

I thought you lived on the West Coast, like I do? It is only 10:43. You guys are so fast!

John has lightened up a bit. He is actually having conversation with Kristen Charles.

Where is Kim Fitz?

Perfect again...... ABC News was right on time. 30 second difference in time now.

I think they are more worried about the on air product and PPM.
