All-Time Worst Use of a Classic Song in a TV Commercial

"Revolution" by The Beatles in a late 1980s Nike ad (seems to me) started all of this overkill of classic rock songs. I'm sure Mr. Lennon would have disapproved of this. ON-J (I venture to guess) probably didn't like her 1980 hit song "Magic" treated in the same fashion either.

John Fred and his Playboy Band's "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)" being used in an o.b. tampons commercial. (sings) O.B. in disguise (da na na!)

OB? Wasn't that Sheriff Taylor's son?

I doubt it . . . more like a New York-based music arranger/conductor of the '50's and '60's, O.B. Massingill (among whose credits included "Born Too Late" by The Poni-Tails).

As I posted on the Worst Commercials in TV History thread--this weekend I just witnessed another stupid (IMO) use of a classic oldie in a TV commercial, thanks to the Axe Anarchy "Unleash the Chaos" ad. Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" was--exactly 50 years after it was a hit (early 1962 IIRC)--just trashed in that commercial. Almost made me wonder how the King himself would react if he was still alive today and saw that Axe ad on his TV. :D

It aired all during the World Series and appeared again today during the Bears-Chargers on CBS, but I am sick of the Volkswagen ads with people messing up the lyrics to Elton John's "Rocket Man." I know some people out there might think it's funny--and probably would have been the first few times--but when run ad nauseum it gets stupid.

Along these lines I am sick of the latest Chevy ad (IIRC) with the passengers attempting to sing to Spandeau Ballet's 1983 hit "True." Ugh.
