Allen Media Group lays off 12% of staff

The Street kicked traditional media to the dustbin years ago. Same with traditional lenders like Banks. If you aren't already in the business but are willing to claim heavily involved with A.I., then you don't exist.
Although there's always someone willing to deal...for a price.

Best of luck to Mike Seidel in his next chapter yeah, Fox Weather should try and sign Mike that would be a huge get. Also Wood TV got rid of The Grio on DT3 Charter Spectrum CH: 193 in Kazoo now is Defy TV which is also on WXMI Fox17 DT4. And I thought that Scripps didn't want their rivals to air the diginets in the same market.

FOX Weather came along and did some fantastic severe weather coverage right out of the gate while The Weather Channel aired canned reruns. Mike Seidel would be an obvious pickup for them if they want to finish the job and seal Byron Allen's fate at TWC.
If it was more serious like today is they would have been on.

IMHO: their website is ok. I personally use it to check the forecast and radar daily. I use ROKU to stream TV. They need a product for streaming. ROKU could bill a buck or two a month. Or what would not disrupt their cable affiliates fees would be a deal like Paramount has with the local CBS OTA affiliates, where the local cable companies commercials are inserted in the stream.

U mean LocalNow app from The Weather Channel?

Staffers appear to have been cut across the company.

Perhaps the most notable was long-time Weather Channel personality Mike Seidel being let go earlier this week. Layoffs have also been reported at several of Allen Media Broadcasting's local markets and the digital subchannel networks operated by AMG.
Of course, the little, local media outlet ran with the story; others around the country may have as well.

That's kind of an absurd thing to say when you think about it. Just adding up the ages of some displaced staff doesn't total the number of years of experience in anything particular. Heck, if you added up the ages of 70% of this board, the number would be in the thousands.

IMHO Experience counts in local news gathering. People tend to talk to folks they are familiar with if they know you are honest.

Then how do you account for local street reporters being changed out every couple years?
Climbing the career ladder, in many other occupations.

Going to better markets.
More often, they're only given 36-month contracts before time to move on. I was responding to secondchoice who said:
