AM Frequencies of the Week - 1100 kHz/1098 kHz

1098 in Kandahar, Afghanistan
(SNIP)

QUOTE
2355UTC, possibly Kandahar on 1098, although it might be KSA, as they are closer to me.

1098 during the is the KSA station and after listening again last night, I figure it has to be the SKA station. Khandahar, I think was coming in up under KSA, just strong enough to give some beat on the carrier frequenciy.

1098 is NOT in Kandahar. I was reporting reception on 1098 FROM Kandahar. I am in Kandahar. The Iranian is too close to have an assignment in Kandahar on 1098. The Iranian dominates the frequency day and night. Check my original post.

From NE NC car radio. Nights 1100 WTAM. Days in winter is WHLI Hempstead, NY on occasion. Days in summer noise.

Yep, mis read it. Sorry.

If that was the only mistake I made last week, it was still a damn good week.

1098 dominant here in Kuwait is KSA's 1098, although with nightwave I can hear the effects of carrier beat.

Going back to a report I generated last year, I see 1098 from KSA running about 1.2mV during the day and about 5.5mV in the night hours.

WWWE in Atlanta during the day and WTAM at night

I find it so ironic that the WWWE calls ended up on 1100 in Atlanta. Does anyone know if there is a story how that came to be or is it just a coincidence?
