An Active Shooting has taken place at Youtube Offices in San Bruno area

Update NBC Bay Area News is reporting that the accused shooter is dead.

Multiple law enforcement sources said the person who opened fire Tuesday at YouTube headquarters in Northern California, triggering a massive police response as employees ran from the building, is dead at the scene.

The shooter, identified as a female, died by "self-inflicted wound," according to San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini. He said four victims were transported to local hospitals for gunshot related injuries.

San Francisco General Hospital said they received three patients: one male in critical condition and two females in serious and fair condition. Stanford Medical Center also said it received a patient from the incident.

Television news footage showed people leaving the building in a line, holding their arms in the air for police to inspect as they were leaving the building. Officers patted down people grouped outside, and police vehicles surrounded the area.

One witness, Jesse, told NBC Bay Area he was at a fast-food restaurant nearby and heard at least 20 shots within two minutes.

"I knew the shooter was right by me because you could feel the sensations of the bullet," he said.

Jesse said one woman was shot in the leg escaped inside the Carl's Jr. Diners helped the woman to try and stop the bleeding. He also said he saw another woman shot multiple times inside YouTube's courtyard.

Chief Barberini said that the scene is still active but the building has been evacuated.

Videos and photos on social media showed YouTube employees walking out of offices with their hands raised. SWAT teams surrounded the campus, guns drawn.

On Twitter, YouTube employees reported hearing multiple gun shots inside the campus. A few were live tweeting what they saw while they were hiding in their offices.

The Status of the victims are now released.

SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 3 (Reuters) - A woman opened fire at YouTube's headquarters near San Francisco on Tuesday, wounding at least three people before taking her own life, as employees of the video website scrambled into the surrounding streets for safety.

Police did not release any further information on the suspect or comment on her possible motives for the shooting rampage at the Silicon Valley offices of YouTube, a service owned by Alphabet Inc's Google.

The shooting had no known connection to terrorism, a U.S. government security official told Reuters.

A YouTube product manager, Todd Sherman, described on Twitter hearing people running, first thinking it was an earthquake before he was told that a person had a gun.

"At that point every new person I saw was a potential shooter. Someone else said that the person shot out the back doors and then shot themselves," Sherman said on Twitter.

"I looked down and saw blood drips on the floor and stairs. Peaked around for threats and then we headed downstairs and out the front," Sherman said.

Responding to the report of gunfire, police officers entered the building and located at least four people with gunshots, San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said at a news conference. One of them, a woman with a self-inflicted wound, was dead, he said, and she was believed to be the shooter.

One of the victims, a 36-year-old man, was listed in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital. A 32-year-old woman was listed in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman in fair condition. Authorities did not release names of the victims.

Google said on Twitter that it was coordinating with local authorities. YouTube Chief Executive Susan Wojcicki declined to comment to reporters as she left the building.

President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he had been briefed on the shooting.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved,” Trump tweeted. “Thank you to our phenomenal Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders that are currently on the scene.”

Dozens of emergency vehicles quickly converged on the YouTube campus, and police could be seen on televised aerial video systematically frisking several employees leaving the area with their hands raised.

Last month, YouTube announced it would ban content promoting the sale of guns and gun accessories as well as videos that teach how to make guns.

Here is an update

SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- The brother of the suspect in Tuesday's shooting at YouTube's headquarters said he told police about her anger toward the company and warned them she might be headed toward San Bruno.

Aghdam's family recently reported her missing when she stopped answering her phone. We learned police had contact with her just hours before the shooting. Mountain View police found her sleeping in her car yesterday morning. They scanned the plates and realized she had been reported missing. They contacted her family down in Southern California. Aghdam's brother told reporters he warned police she might be going to YouTube.

"I Googled Mountain View, it was close to YouTube headquarters and she had problems with YouTube. So we called the cop again and told him that might the reason why she went all the way from San Diego to do that," said Aghdam's brother.

Her brother said he did not know she had a gun.

Aghdam did not work at YouTube or know anybody there -- but she was very angry at the company. She posted a rant on her personal website saying YouTube's new ad policy was causing her to lose money. She also embedded videos from other YouTube users blasting what they called "Adpocalypse,"

San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said authorities have finished up their forensic investigation inside the building, but YouTube is keeping it closed at least for today and may keep it closed for a couple more days.
Chief Barberini says they have the suspect's vehicle in their possession but have yet to complete a search of it. He says that's a slow, methodical process and no letter or manifesto has been found yet. They are still investigating a motive, but authorities say she was obviously upset at YouTube and its policies.

Initial reporting of this incident was really pathetic.

Some early reports had indicated that 37 people had been sent to hospitals all over the Bay Area.
Ninety minutes later that number had dropped to 11. I think the real number turned out to be 4 including the perp.

Early reports also indicated that there were two shooters, a female in a headscarf, and a male accomplice who ran into the woods and got away. Clearly there was no accomplice, and I've not seen anything confirming that she wore a headscarf.

What ever happened to journalism? Does anybody fact check before putting things out there anymore?

As Far as I know the Local Media here in San Francisco was just basing all these allegations on what the San Bruno Police and eyewitnesses were telling them.

Also Here is more on the background on the deceased shooter
