An Idea For WBIH Channel 29 (Become West Central Alabama's Home For the New CW Network)

I have an idea for WBIH Channel 29. I know that their studios are in Prattville but they could have a successful TV station, if they would do the following:

1. Relocate their studio and facility to Selma
2. And sign on with the new CW network and become West Central Alabama's home for this new network, when it signs on this fall.

This may be a dream but if I were in their shoes, I would go for it.

P.S. They still don't have any local sponsers advertising on this station. I don't see how they are still making it. Whatever their secert is, it must be working. I just don't see how airing mostly Infomericals is going to help pay the biils and stay on the air.

It's sad to see a great thing just sit there and go to waste. If they had someone to program it right, this station would turn out a huge profit and do very well.

when i was chief engineer, i've asked Dirk plenty fo times about the programming and he has said that's he's happy running infomercials and free programming from Urban America TV as long as viewers are buuying what the infomercials are selling.
______________

There's no way in Tuscaloosa that I'd ever consider aligning The CW with WBIH 29, especially with the station's current ownership and broadcast quality. I'd settle for one of WSFA's or WAKA's digital subchannels first.

Do you think Dr. Flinn would sell WBIH to someone that could make a real go of it, if the right offer was made? Just curious.

WBIH (We Bring Informericals Home)

It's unlikely...

Probably not...I don't think that guy sells any of his properties from what little I know about his company from the Memphis board...

As sorry as the station looks, it almost has to show some sort of profit running UATV and several hours of paid informercials daily. He might not want to sell, and he might not see ANY reason to change anything.

On a related note: Is WBIH broadcasting digitally yet?
______________
