Re: Anchor Susan Monday of WPHT 1210 AM filled in for Suzanne LaFrankie this wee
Not that it matters on WPHT, but I'm of the opinion that it's not ethical for a news anchor to do news AND talk radio at the same time. Especially on radio, where there are no visual cues, it's easy to blur the line between opinion and fact. Guys like John Gibson, Neil Cavuto, and Michael Smerconish that try to pass themselves off as objective journalists for part of the day and then as edgy, opinionated talk hosts for the rest of the day tend to contribute towards the overall trend of news having slanted perspectives.
Again, though, this is a different thing altogether, because who ever listens to WPHT for news when 1060 has it on 24/7 just a few clicks down the dial? I like Susan Monday just fine, but Suzanne LaFrankie's show never really does anything for me. She usually talks too long without taking any callers, and when she does take callers, she asks them all the same question: "What do you make of _______?"
