As bad as I want to comment on this 97.1 debate, (and I want to comment BAAAD!!!), I am going to keep quiet. I just hope that Clear Channel will consider gospel on one of their other signals in the near future. That's all....

You'll have to deal with Carlos-FM for a while.
Edited by FridayNiteInTheBigTown on 08/23/05 11:33 AM.

For a while? Once flipped to Spanish , stays Spanish. :(

That's true.

The 1160 and 1190 signals on AM would be good fits for that format. If KHVN can draw in the 1's with their puny signal, think of how well the more powerful stations could do.

Urban Gospel was planned for 1190 during its KJOI incarnation, but was never launched.

Not always. The 1360 frequency in DFW has returned to English, at least during the day; same for 1320 here in Houston. And our 100.7, which had been various Hispanic formats for a number of years, flipped to Salem's "The Word" format last year after Univision sold it.

Spanish to English has also happened with KXEB/910, KNIT/1480
and KKGM/1630 here in the D/FW market.

By the way, the number of English stations in the Rio Grande
valley is rather surprising, at least to me, given the
demographics of that region. That's one part of Texas where
I would have thought there'd be marginal assimilation.

I think all of that happened, because new owners took over those stations.

I meant FM Gospel. I would like to hear the music in FM stereo.
