The second day we are without Newsworld International there is a major story in Canada that we can't see the CBC coverage of.
Thanks again Al Gore!
______________

Can we try to confine the discussion to the existing threads on NWI's demise, (six, including this one) or is it going to be necessary to start a new thread several times a day?

After skipping through the coverage on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, I ended up coming online and listening to the live programming from CBC Radio One Toronto. Much better!
______________

Newsworld International was going anyway, if Al didn't buy it somebody else would. If the CBC cared so much about the station, then why did they allow Vivendi to sell it? At least Al is putting a new idea on the air. In time we'll find out if it's more successful than NWI.

And a major story? Not to downplay the significance, but even the Canadian networks didn't cover it all night long as there were no fatalities and only 43 out of the 300 passengers left the scene with minor injuries.

Thank-you. I hope NWI returns soon...or at least the right to watch one of the CBC channels, because CBC's National at 10 pm est is an excellent news program.

I would like to nominate the Discovery Times channel as a new home for CBC TV news in the US. They have already co-produced a newsmagazine (CBC, NY Times) this summer.
Currently, they seem to repeat the same 6 to 8 hours of programming a few times within a 24 hour cycle. Why not add some CBC Newscasts, at least in the AM and at 5/6 & 10/11 PM?
I think it would be worth a shot.
