And then 95.7/Kansas City made "A Vibe" less "Hot" for 103.3 in Kansas City...

As Cumulus flips KCHZ 95.7 from CHR/Pop to Hip Hop and R&B as the new 95.7 the Vibe The Beat of KC. This station will give conservative based KPRS a run for it's money.

Actually The Vibe is a Rhythmic Top 40. But then again this could be a wakeup call for KPRS.

I doubt it very seriously because in every city there is a certain segment of the urban-listening 18-34 demo that prefers a more adult sounding Urban than a young-sounding Urban or Urban-imitating Rhythmic like 95.7 the Vibe. All it may cause KPRS to do is become a little bit quicker at adding new music, but from what I have examined about KPRS is that it isn't a very repetitive Urban (which may make them very conservative in today's standards) like most are nowadays. Some people don't want to hear the same top 30 songs on repeat through the day. Another thing, KPRS has a major advantage over KCHZ in the coverage area in Kansas City as well.
______________

This is great! It's about time. Competition is always good. When competition moves in, the heritage station always improves, and if they don't the new station takes over. I can't wait to see what happens!

Now if Denver could just get one too..........

So true. There's an audience out there that doesn't want to hear the same songs every two hours. Look at the Radio and Records station playlists and the rotations. There are plenty of stations out there that do well playing the new music 30 times a week vs. the 90+ times a week most CHR and so-called urban stations bombard their audience.
